Door County has a way of pulling you in with its charm. Staying at DiSalvo Lakehouse doubles it! Nestled right on the water, this beautiful home offers not just a place to sleep, but a place to slow down, soak in the views, and immerse yourself into what makes the peninsula special. It’s on the quiet side, yet just a few minutes from all the action. Let’s get right into those five favorite things:

1. Lovely Lake Views

Summer or Winter, inside or out, day or night, the views from DiSalvo Lakehouse are stunning. The view of Rowleys Bay is what you’ll first notice when you walk through the house. It’s visible from the many windows in the dining area, living room and two of the bedrooms.

Think about watching the sun rise with your morning coffee. Or watching the light fade at the end of the day with a glass of wine. Hard to decide what’s best. If you’re a morning person, the early hours of the day are peaceful and precious.

2. A Cozy-Meets-Luxury Vibe

Speaking of coffee… DiSalvo Lakehouse has you covered. We’ve noticed that some rental homes offer a coffee pot and some filters, and not much else. Here, you have choices like a Keurig with plenty of k-cups and creamers. Or, if you’re fancy, fire up the Espresso machine.

The house itself feels both luxurious and cozy. There’s space for everyone to have their own corner, but it’s still full of warm touches that make it feel like home. We love cooking meals together in the well-equipped kitchen, then gathering at the big dining table for endless games with the kids. As the name implies, this house belongs to a big Sicilian family that loves to eat.

You’ll find all the pots, pans and tools you’ll need for preparing a big meal. (And a wine fridge!) The bathrooms are updated with full sized shampoo, conditioner and soap. (Love that small touch!) There’s a/c for the hot summers, and an amazing fireplace for the bitter winters. The house comes with WiFi and several tv’s with streaming options. It’s quiet, but connected!

Outside on the deck you’ll find a ping pong table, pizza kitchen, Blackstone griddle, gas grill and charcoal grill. See more pictures inside the house, here.

3. Direct Lake Access

Some of us just like to look at the bay. Some of us like to dive right in. DiSalvo Lakehouse provides plenty of water vessels. There are kayaks, a canoe, and paddle boards, for those who want to be adventurous.

Plus, the rocky shore provides endless hours of treasure hunting for tiny shells, pretty rocks, fossils and wildflowers.

4. Location!

Location-wise, DiSalvo Lakehouse is a winner. It’s peaceful, yet close to all the restaurants, shops and activities we love. Sister Bay is just a 10 minute drive for groceries, the beach, and our favorite wine bar! In 15 minutes you can get to Peninsula State Park for hiking or Fish Creek for a night at the outdoor theater. And just down the road in Ellison Bay, within 5 minutes, provisions and pizza!

5. Four Season Getaway

We love Door County all year long! And the great thing about DiSalvo Lakehouse, is that it’s available and lovely for all four seasons. Stay in the winter for a cozy getaway. In the spring, enjoy the quiet time of year, where you feel like you have the peninsula all to yourselves. Stay in the summer to take in all the prime activities. And in the fall, you’ll love the colors, the crisp air and the apple cider donuts! If we had to pick a favorite…

Whatever the season, we come for the lake, and leave with fun memories and a plan to return! If you’re looking for a place that blends comfort, beauty, and that signature Door County magic, DiSalvo Lakehouse is hard to beat.
